• Abstract:
  Asset Management is a framework for making cost-effective resource allocation, programming, and management decisions. Asset Management is a data-intensive process that involves the gathering, retrieval, storage, analysis, and communication of enormous quantities of data. Data integration is the process of combining or linking two or more data sets from different sources to facilitate data sharing, promote effective data gathering and analysis, and support overall information management activities in an organization. This glossary presents simple and understandable definitions of the terminology used in information management, especially in database management and integration. The terms and definitions presented are applied in transportation databases.
