Abstract:The number of persons crossing into the United States through its ports of entry along the Canadian and Mexican borders has been declining since 2000. Recently, researchers have proposed various reasons for the decline in person crossings, including (but not limited to) the economies of the three nations and increased security at the borders. This report does not examine reasons for the decline in person crossings, rather the trends in person crossings by mode are investigated.
