Alternative Title:
1977 Nationwide Personal Transportation Study: Report 9: Household Travel
This report is one of a series prepared from the findings of the 1977 Nationwide Personal Transportation Study (NPTS). The report examines the relationship between household travel patterns and characteristics of the household. Vehicle trips and vehicle miles per household are presented relative to income, number of vehicles owned, household location and composition of the household (e.g., number of persons, workers, drivers). In some tables, rates are shown in terms of two household characteristics, such as income and number of vehicles owned. Findings from the 1977 NPTS are compared to those from the 1969 NPTS to trace changes over time in vehicle trips and travel per household.
