Abstract:

Census Transportation Planning Package (CTPP) 2000 is the result of a cooperative effort between American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), State Departments of Transportation, U.S. Census Bureau, Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS), Federal Transit Administration (FTA), and Transportation Research Board (TRB). CTPP data is a special tabulation of responses from households completing the decennial census long form. It contains tabulations by PLACE OF RESIDENCE (Part I), PLACE OF WORK (Part II), and JOURNEY-TO-WORK (Part III). It is the only source of information with summary tabulations available for traffic analysis zones (TAZs) that have been defined by state and regional transportation agencies. These special tabulations are intended to provide data to support a wide range of transportation planning activities at the state and local level.
