Abstract:This study collected data for the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) Omnibus Survey during the summer of 2000. Data were collected from households in the U.S. using a random-digit- dialed telephone survey. The final completed sample size is 2,030 cases, and the total number of variables in the data set is 207. The data were collected by Battelle with assistance from Mathematica Policy Research, Inc. (MPR), under contract with the BTS. This codebook provides technical documentation for this BTS Omnibus survey. Its primary goal is to document background information, sampling procedures, data collection, data elements and survey variables, response rates, and final weights. It also provides guidance on the selection of Form A and Form B versions of the questionnaire and the appropriate use of weights (also referred to as Survey A and Survey B).
