Abstract:

This primer outlines key concepts and expectations of a Transportation Management Area (TMA) Planning Certification Review. Reflecting on the collective experiences of past Certification Reviews, this includes references to relevant laws and regulations, policies, and other ; resources to guide the TMA planning partners (Metropolitan Planning Organizations, State Departments of Transportation, and public transportation operators) responsible for managing a TMA’s transportation planning process. The primer begins with an overview of the TMA Certification Review process, followed by summaries of each review topic, including considerations for a successful process.
