Abstract:

Rutgers University Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation (CAIT), in collaboration ; with research partners within the University Transportation Center (UTC) consortium, seeks to identify ; knowledge gaps and chart future R&D directions that focus on Life Cycle Cost Reductions. On March ; 24, 2015 CAIT hosted a one-day workshop to identify opportunities for practical and breakthrough ; research that can reduce life cycle costs and improve decision-making in the transportation industry. ; The slate of participants included CAIT partners from multiple universities, transportation industry ; representatives, insurance providers, and national and regional government stakeholders in the ; transportation sector. The workshop identified pressing challenges in reducing life cycle costs, cutting edge ; solutions to develop quantitative life cycle methods and opportunities for future research
