Abstract:On January 20, 1981, Ronald Reagan began his first presidential term. The resignation of Langhorne Bond as FAA Administrator became effective on this date. Three days later, Drew Lewis became Secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), the first of three to hold this position under President Reagan. Elizabeth Dole succeeded Lewis on February 7, 1983, and James Burnley became Secretary on December 3, 1987.
