The Delaware Traffic Calming Manual consists of roadway design standards that are intended to encourage closer adherence to posted speeds, discourage cut-through traffic, enhance vehicular and pedestrian safety and community aesthetics. Its purpose is to provide the administrative procedures needed to evaluate and implement traffic calming measures, provide guidance on applications for traffic calming, and provide guidance on geometric design and signing. This Manual is supplemental to the Road Design Manual; it is intended to augment and not supersede it. It provides alternative means to address speeding and cut-through problems. This PDF copy of the manual is a reproduction of the manual as printed in the Delaware Register of Regulations (Vol. 4, Issue 3, pp 528-579).
