• Abstract:
  This project developed a one-day short course on the 2000 Highway Capacity Manual (HCM2000) for the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT). The HCM2000 has been under continuous ; development for more than a decade, and the 2000 edition constituted a substantial improvement from the previous edition. The short course discussed the general content of the HCM2000, identified changes incorporated into the 2000 edition, and reviewed typical applications of capacity techniques. The University Transportation Center for Alabama taught the course six times to 178 individuals at four ALDOT Division offices across the State (Birmingham, Guntersville, Mobile, and Montgomery) in the spring and summer of 2002.
