• Abstract:
  This report summarizes the findings of a literature search conducted in support of a Washington State Department of Transportation effort to plan an origin and destination study in the Interstate 5 corridor. The objective was to support the study project team by providing information useful in determining the appropriate scope, budget, and design of a survey that will most efficiently and effectively meet the project's objectives. The report documents findings relevant to surveys of passenger automobiles that make inter-city highway trips. It does not address surveys of freight traffic or the use of urban roadway networks.
