• Abstract:
  This report presents the results of a study to determine the extent to which written materials used in training railroad tank car HAZMAT loaders are consistent with the reading skills of the trainees. Data from four case study sites was used to conduct the analysis. Each site trains employees to load hazardous materials into railroad tank cars. The reading levels of the trainees was assessed through self-reporting of years of educaiton completed and through the administration of a verbal skills aptitude test.
