Abstract:

Presents MUNI's five year "master" plan for the programming of transit operations. It describes the existing system and what is anticipated for the future. It covers route design, operations, rolling stock requirements, and evaluates each on the basis of service standards for the system. It discusses ridership, funding, and regional transit integration. The Plan is required by the Urban Mass Transportation Administration in order to receive funds for capital development, as well as the Metropolitan Transportation Commission for the Bay Area.
