Abstract:The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Office of Program
Development and Evaluation (OPDE) conducts research and evaluation projects
dealing with human attitudes, behaviors and failures (motor vehicle crashes).
OPDE's focus is on drivers, passengers, pedestrians, bicyclists, and
motorcyclists and their role in traffic safety. OPDE conducts basic problem
identification research to identify and measure the importance of behaviors
that cause crashes or increase the severity of injuries. This compendium lists
OPDE's research activities. Glossary, 231k, 61p.
