Abstract:This report contains a methodological discussion of the Chicago Area
Transportation Study (CATS) 1990 Household Travel Survey. It was prepared to
assist those who are working with the Household Travel Survey database. This
report concentrates on the survey procedures and is intended to be a supplement
to the materials that document the database and its structure. It should be
noted that a great deal has been written about the Household Travel Survey.
This has been done both in terms of documenting the conduct of the survey and
in the preparation of research papers covering several methodological aspects
of the survey. Shown in the References at the end of this report is a listing
of the published articles discussing various aspects of the survey. 40p.
