Abstract:This four page pamphlet highlights the work of the Federal Transit
Administration's Office of Technical Assistance and Safety. Articles in this
issue are: Transit's Finance Challenge, which discusses the three main aspects
of the Office's Financial Program; Transit Financial Planning Software Available,
discussing new software developed by the National Association of Regional
Councils (NARC) to deal with the requirements posed by the Intermodal Surface
Transportation Efficiency Act (ISTEA) of1991; Public Finance Guide for Transit,
a new publication on the area of transit financing; Cross-Border Leasing, a
private sector investment strategy; recent publications and a calendar of
upcoming events.
