• Abstract:
  This advisory circular (AC) provides guidance in the design of systems for interactive training of airport personnel. The Federal Aviation Administration recommends the use of the guidance in this publication for the preparation of specifications for equipment used for interactive training of airport personnel. Federal grant-in-aid agreements for projects involving the purchase of interactive training equipment will require the use of these specifications in procurement documents. The use of a performance specification (i.e., a description of the functions to be performed by the training equipment, as opposed to a material specification, which describes specific components) will provide for increased competition and innovation in the design of a cost-effective training system on the part of potential vendors.
