Abstract:

The National Occupant Protection Use Survey (NOPUS). was conducted in the Fall of 1996 to estimate safety use in the U.S. The first such study was conducted in 1994 and the results were made available in a series of research notes. This Research Note includes background of the study, comparison of the 1996 and 1994 moving traffic studies, and findings of the 1996 state surveys with comparison of measurement methods.
