Abstract:
In late May, 1973 the task of determining and evaluating measures for conserving fuel consumed by the airline industry was undertaken. This task was a part of the larger effort conducted by the Transportation Systems Center to determine measures that would conserve fuel in all transportation modes. This document identifies some fuel conserving measure applicable to airline operations and present preliminary evaluations of the efficacy these measures.
