The report delineates the various computer system components and extrapolates past trends in light of industry goals and physical limitations to predict what individual components and entire systems will look like in the second half of this decade. The report will emphasize the nature of components (e.g. CPUs, primary memories, secondary memories, ultra large storage devices, etc.) and the system architectures that will be commercially available as 'off-the-shelf' items rather than one-of-a-kind systems that might exist in five years.
