"description": "The Alaska Rural Remote Operations Work Plan (ARROW) UAS Flight Telemetry Dataset contains operational flight telemetry and mission metadata collected by the Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (DOT&PF) under the U.S. Department of Transportation Strengthening Mobility and Revolutionizing Transportation (SMART) Grant Program. The dataset consists of 1,151 system-generated flight records collected between July 15, 2023, and January 15, 2025, using Skydio unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) operating throughout Alaska in support of transportation infrastructure inspections, construction monitoring, emergency response, disaster assessment, workforce development, and transportation technology research. Each record represents a single completed flight mission and includes operational metadata such as flight identifiers, timestamps, duration, aircraft platform, battery information, takeoff location data, communications metadata, and aircraft configuration information. Configuration fields including Sensor Package, Attachment (TOP/BOTTOM/LEFT/RIGHT), and Carrier(s) document installed aircraft equipment and communications infrastructure only and do not contain imagery, video, audio, thermal data, LiDAR, or sensor-derived outputs. Operator information has been anonymized to organizational-level reporting. The dataset is provided in accordance with U.S. DOT public access requirements to support transportation research, operational analysis, emergency management studies, and the advancement of scalable remote UAS operations in rural and remote environments.",
