![]() Using the Data Table Window When you open a data file, CFS 2002 automatically formats and displays the file's contents in the Data Table window. You can use the Data Table window to view, organize, and report census information in a table format. This includes sorting and filtering data, changing the appearance of data table text, and creating, rearranging, and removing columns. Depending on the type of information a data table contains, you may also be able to combine and compare data according to a geographic level you specify. In addition to viewing census data, you can also use the Data Table window to create custom census reports. To create a custom census report, simply format the data table, using menu bar commands, to look like the report you want to create. Then, you can then either save the data table as a new file or print it. Through the Information menu you can access more general CFS 2002 background information including, though not limited to, data availability, geographic groupings, and statistical methodology. Also in the Information menu, you will find more information about the Census Bureau including how to contact it about the data. Within the data table, right-clicking on a specific data item brings up help for that specific data type, when available. In addition to the displayed data file, the Data Table window includes a toolbar (at the top of the window) and a Row Filter pane (on the left side of the window). |
