Filtering Data

With CFS 2002, you can filter a data table and display only those rows that contain a value you specify. For example, if a data table contains information about every state in the United States, you can apply the filter "New Jersey" and limit your display to only those rows that contain information about the state of New Jersey.

To filter data:

  1. With the Filter pane displayed, use the Row Filter(s) drop-down list box at the top of the Filter pane to select the desired f filter type you want to apply. The list of available filters you can choose from varies, depending on the data in the table you have open.

  2. In the Filter pane list box (below the Row Filter(s) drop-down list box), select the filter you want to apply. (Multiple filters of the same type can be applied by selecting additional filters while holding down the Ctrl key.)

  3. If you select Data Item by Value, the Select Rows dialog box appears and prompts you to select a comparison operator such as “>” (greater than) and enter a specific numeric value.

The selected filter is applied to the displayed data table. The filter details are displayed in the filter list box at the bottom of the Filter pane.

  4. To apply an additional filter (in conjunction with the already applied filter, repeats steps 1 through 3.
