Purpose

Process step 1
Process description: Data for individual MPOs were collected from the MPOs, state DOTs, and other government agencies. Data were received in a variety of geospatial data formats. The Federal Highway Administration and BTS collected the individual MPO files, digitized raster images where necessary and reformatted geospatial data files to fit into a national database. Data collected from the above-listed agencies was not edited or altered in any way. If you have questions about the process steps for particular MPOs or regions, please contact BTS.
