Abstract:Efficient execution of the FHWA mission depends on a clear understanding by all levels of the organization as well as its partners and customers of where the Agency is headed and what it intends to accomplish. To ensure that this communication is as extensive as possible, the FHWA Business Planning Process is a participatory one that involves all employees, with the guidance of senior Agency executives (that is, Associate Administrators, Regional Administrators and the Federal Lands Highway Program Administrator). The Business Planning Process has three elements: planning, resources and accomplishments. The interdependence of these elements drives the overall process toward continuous improvement of FHWA. The coordination of these three elements will lead to better accomplishment of the Agency’s goals.
