Abstract:"A long-range transportation plan is a statement of how the DMATS area intends to manage its transportation system for the next 30 years. Federal law requires the creation of a plan that provides an assessment of current transportation trends in the area as well as to aid in forecasting potential changes for the future. The current plan is an update of the 2031 Long-Range Transportation Plan that was adopted in 2006. The 2036 plan is guided by an updated set of goals, principles, and objectives. The major focus of the update to 2036 was to: Ensure that Federal requirements are met; and Reflect current transportation issues and concerns of the Dubuque Metropolitan Area Transportation Study (DMATS)."
