Abstract:With the inception of the Marquette Interchange Project in 2004 – Wisconsin’s first ever highway megaproject (over $500 million) – WisDOT developed a number of new techniques, methods, processes and procedures for project management. The department continued to utilize many of these methods on the $1.9 billion I-94 North-South Freeway Project starting in 2009. Also in 2009 and 2010, the federal government required a slate of project and financial management tools for $350 million of projects funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA).
