Abstract:Initiated by the Federal Scenic Byways Program, corridor management planning is the process in which a community develops a plan to manage a state-designated scenic road and make it eligible for federal designation as a National Scenic Byway. The Corridor Management Plan (CMP) is the resulting document that describes the route’s existing conditions, presents the intrinsic qualities that draw residents and visitors to the corridor, and enumerates strategies to preserve and enhance these qualities.
